Information:
My first impression had been of a 'damaged moth' - it had looked as if a great chunk had been taken out of the fore-wings. In profile it looked an even more unlikely 'whole moth' - "How can it fly?" I hear you ask. 'Very well,' is my reply ... it took off and left the scene immediately after its photo was taken.
