Common Wave.
(Cabera exanthemata)

Resting in an old egg box used to line the moth trap so the moths have somewhere to roost whilst waiting for release.

Information:
The picture shows a typical resting pose of this 14-16mm Fore-wing lengthed moth. It has an overall colouring of near white with small freckles of brownish-grey - additionally there are three very faint curved light brown cross lines, the outer two of which have a more pronounced curve than the one nearest to the head. A further diagnostic point is that the hind wing has only two faint cross lines. There is a slightly scalloped effect to the fringed trailing edges.
Fore-wing length: 14-16mm. They can be seen in flight during May-September near poplars, willows, aspens and in woodlands and untended bushy undergrowth.
