Flame Shoulder.

A Flame Shoulder moth on an old stone wall covered in lichen.
Information:
This is a very distinctive little moth (Forewing length is 12-15mm) and its English name describes it beautifully. The white 'Flame' along the leading edge of the forewing has a with a sharp white edging that butts up agains a rich dark chestnut streak of colour running down the wing. In this streak of colour are a dot and a crescent both white edged. They fly from April to September and are a common moth in the whole of Britain.
